Tracking
This series of shots each had their technical challenges regarding the tracking
Being 2 different perspectives and focal lengths between the helicopter/drone plate and procession plate. Tracking, stabilizing and re-projecting A over B wasn't as straightforward as I initially thought.
Plate A, the procession was moving so the distance they travel, the speed at which they move, and the shape of the terrain was a major factor in the tracks coinciding.
All thing into consideration, piecing together the comp was simple, Through the conventional means of 3D tracking and Mocha corner pins the outcome was about 90% the way there.
The last 10% of the finalized track had to be adjusted manually for all of these shots, that meant corner pins to adjust further corner pins with the correct concatenation.
Sky replacement
The more dramatic cloudscapes are added in comp, I had control over the placement of the clouds from the supplied backplates.
The clouds then needed further integration to the main plates, I found frequency transfers super useful for multiplying the colours and details between the 2 plates.
Integration of horse procession
The plates for the procession were filmed in a car park, the roto was supplied to me.
All I had to do was make sure they fit in properly + were the correct levels of sharpness and filtered correctly.
